BriteVu Pigeon Art Reported in Magazines Internationally!!

The BriteVu perfused pigeon that was one of the winning images at the 2017 Wellcome Awards has been featured in numerous high profile magazines in the US and Europe.  Two more just got added this week! The Belgium magazine Knack just wrote a small blurb about the award winning BriteVu pigeon!  See the attached image. A story around the image was also just published in the Netherlands in their magazine Wetenschapsredacteur.

What an amazing honor!!  An art award.  This is too cool not to share.  The president of Scarlet Imaging and creator of BriteVu, Dr Scott Echols, got to meet BBC’s Fergus Walsh and receive 2 awards from the Wellcome Trust a couple weeks ago in London. Go nerdy science art!! BriteVu Used to Create Award Winning Wellcome Images!!

Two artistic pictures featuring BriteVu perfused animals are finalists in the Wellcome Image Awards and are featured in multiple media outlets.  Dr Scott Echols created an image of a BriteVu perfused pigeon head and Scott Birch and Dr Echols co-created a picture of a grey parrot with BriteVu highlighted vasculature.  Both images represent 2 of the 22 finalists selected among entries submitted worldwide.  The grand prize will be awarded at the Wellcome Trust in London March 15, 2017 and images will…

BriteVu Contrast Agent is in a Peer Reviewed Article!

March 11, 2016: BriteVu contrast agent is in the peer reviewed literature!  First description of BriteVu is in the Journal of Anatomy: http://onlinelibrary.wiley.com/doi/10.1111/joa.12449/full.  This extensive paper discusses the use of diffusible iodine based contrast enhanced CT imaging.  The authors evaluated numerous types of iodine diffusible stains and perfusable contrast agents (including BriteVu).  Also BriteVu is directly compared to other commonly used terminal contrast agents.
